The mountain bike, or MTB, is a bicycle designed for all-terrain use. It is robust and adapted to difficult terrain. In their jargon, French mountain bikers also call their mountain bikes " spads ".

Although it receives much less media coverage than road cycling, there are in fact many mountain biking competitions. Realising the popularity of mountain bikes, the manufacturers and equipment makers have invested in competition events, hiring professional riders.

Discover the Tignes Bike Park, specifically designed for mountain bike freeride with 6 downhill runs, 2 "North Shore" slopestyles, 1 four cross, 1 skatepark, etc ... by clicking here www.tignesbikepark.com

Hiking is an outdoor activity consisting of following a route (waymarked or not). A hike is not simply a way to get around, this is a leisure activity combining sport and discovery.
Hiking is increasingly popular in France. It is open to everyone and can be practised anywhere. Its duration is extremely variable: a walk, a day's hike, long-distance hiking, trekking in distant destinations. The degree of preparation and equipment required vary depending on the type, duration and difficulty.

The paraglider is an aircraft derived from a parachute, used for hang-gliding. These days, its use for recreational or competitive sport is independent of parachuting and more like other aerial sports such as gliding or the (very similar) hang gliding.

A paraglider consists of a wing, from which the harness seat is suspended  by rigging lines. The pilot has two controls for manoeuvring, a foot-operated accelerator, and often an integrated reserve parachute either in the harness seat, or in a lap-pack.

Climbing or rock climbing is a sport consisting of getting to the top of a rock face, a block, an artificial structure or an ice structure.
For safety reasons, climbing is practised using safety equipment, even at low heights (blocks). Depending on conditions, the climber may use special equipment, such as ice axes and crampons for icefall climbing.

Via Ferrata is a sporting circuit on a rock face, equipped with specific elements (cables, ladders, etc.)  designed to make progress easier and optimise user safety. Crossing the Via Ferrata is an intermediate activity between hiking and climbing.
